Create a Matching activity

Discover the newest Beekast activity: Matching !


This assessment activity allows you to check if your participants understood a concept by asking them to link elements together. It is a fun way to test your audience’s knowledge by combining visuals and/or keywords!




To create and add an idea association activity to your session, click on “Add a slide”, on the top left, then select “Matching” on the bottom of the scrollable panel.




Activity settings

You will have access to the following sections:

Title and Instructions
- Customise your Matching activity! The default title is the name of the activity. To change it, delete the automatic title and enter your own question or a customised title.
- Add an instruction to give you more details about your activity. This option is optional.



Activity format
- Choose the score allocated to the activity. This represents the number of points the participant will earn if they complete the activity correctly. You can pick to allocate between 0 and 10 points.

On the editing panel, you can build your associations:
1. The first box is the left-hand side of the association. Match a word or phrase, an image, or both! 
2. The second box corresponds to the right-hand part, and the part of the association to be linked with the first part.
3. To add an image, click on ‘Image’ to the right of the proposal, then select an image from your device, from an external link or from Beekast's built-in image bank.
4. The little red bin to the right of the suggestion is for deleting suggestions
5 You can add more associations as you wish.


It is not possible to have fewer than three associations

You can rearrange your different associations by clicking on the small dots to the left of the proposals, then dragging the association to the desired position.
Launch settings
To make your activity even more dynamic, you can choose to display a Stopwatch or a Timer (to determine the duration of your activity).

If you add a Stopwatch, the proposals will be displayed to your participants. You can make them visible for 5 seconds by clicking on “Show temporarily


It's also possible to display a countdown at the start of the activity



Presentation settings and Results
From this area, you can
- Activate the option to display the number of live participations
- Select the display mode, after each response or at the end of the activity.


Start the activity

In participant scroll mode (asynchronous mode), your Quiz is automatically accessible as soon as your activity is recorded.
If the session is in the Facilitator scrolling mode, you can manually launch your activity by clicking on the green "Start" button at the top right of your slide.

When the session starts up, the associations already appear random.




To make your activity unavailable for your participants, you must click on “Stop”, on the top right of the slide.



On evaluation activities, participants cannot change their answers once they have submitted them

The options of the activity


You can, at any moment, by clicking on the three little dots on the top right of the activity:

1. Reset the activity
2. Edit the activity 
3. Duplicate
4. Remove the slide


Scores


The Matching activity is an assessment activity, your participants will gain points by answering correctly to the activity.  




On the activity, points individually earned can be seen by the participants over the slide’s podium, by clicking on the trophy icon on the top right of the slide. 

The animator can equally see the earned points by participants from the projection screen to see the progress of each one.
