Create an Idea Association activity

Discover the newest Beekast activity: Idea association !

This assessment activity allows you to check if your participants understood a concept by asking them to link elements together. It is a fun way to test your audience’s knowledge by combining visuals and/or keywords!

To create and add an idea association activity to your session, click on “Add a slide”, on the top left, then select “idea association” on the bottom of the scrollable panel.

Once selected the activity, you can set it in the center of the slide.

Set the activity

In the center of the slide, you will have access to the following settings:

1. Fill in the title or question of your activity

2. Add instructions if you want it, this allows you to provide more specifications to your activity. This is an optional choice.

3. Choose the score given to your activity. This represents the number of points that participants’ will earn by answering correctly to the activity. You can decide to assign between 0 and 10 points.

4. In the middle part, you can make your associations: associate a word or phrase, an image, or even both! You can add as many associations as you want.

To add an image, click on “Image” then select a picture from your phone, from an external link or from Beekast's built-in image bank.

You can reorganize the different associations by click and grab by the little dots on the left of each proposition, then sliding the association to the desired position.

On the panel on the right of your screen, you can find the following settings:

  • Correction and Results

Select the displaying mode for the results of the activity: either during the activity (after each answer), or at the end of the activity, by your own means if you are in a facilitator’s scrolling mode.

  • Time Management

To dynamize your activity even more, you can choose to add a Stopwatch or a Timer (to determine the duration of your activity).

Finally, click on Save on the bottom of the slide to save the activity.

Start the activity

On the scrolling mode by the participant (asynchronous mode), your activity is automatically accessible as soon as your activity is registered.

On the scrolling mode by the facilitator, the owner or the coanimator of the session will need to manually start the activity by clicking on the button Start activity on the top right of the slide.

To make the activity unavailable to participants, you can click on “Stop activity”, on the top right of your slide. The participants won’t be able to upload new responses anymore.
