How to upload and share your videos

Import your video content directly into your Beekast session from your device (computer, phone, tablet) or from a platform (YouTube, Vimeo, or Dailymotion).

Add a video

1. To add a personal video or one from a platform, click the “Add a slide” button in the panel on the left, then scroll to “Video” in the menu that appears.
2. Add a title to your video slide. This title will be visible in the “Organize” tab alongside the other slides of your session. If you upload a video from your device and do not provide a title, the original filename will be used.

I. Video title
Give your video slide a title — it will be visible in the Organize tab, along with the other slides. If you import a video from your device without adding a title, the file name will be used.

II. Format
1. Video from a platform: select "Integrate an external service" then copy and paste the video URL into the "Link to video" field.
2. Video from your device: select "Upload video", then click "Choose file" to import your video.

Info
Depending on your subscription, a size limit applies — this is specified under the import button. A progress bar indicates the status of the upload. If the file is invalid, the slide will appear as an error.

For videos imported from a device, you can also add a background image for previewing: click on the pencil icon, then select the desired image.
Supported formats: 3GP, AAC, AVI, FLV, MP4, MOV, and MPEG-2.

III. Settings

You have two playback options:

1. Allow participants to play the video on their devices.
2. Restrict playback to the host's screen (projection).

Info
If you do not allow your participants to play the video, it can only be viewed on the projection screen and launched by the facilitator.

Reading / Preview

Once the slide has been saved, the video appears in the Beekast interface of the facilitator — and of the participants if the option is enabled. You can start the video at any time. If playback was restricted, participants will see the preview image until the facilitator starts it.

During preview, you will have access to the following information:
  1. The duration of the video
  2. The option to delete the video
  3. Customization of the background image before launch
