Why not combine Beekast with a videoconferencing tool? 😃
On the one hand, Beekast will enable you to conduct your meeting successfully by synchronising your session data on all your participants' devices. At the same time, you'll be able to talk to each other and even see each other using one of the videoconferencing tools!
In this article we're going to introduce one of these tools → Skype
There are many other tools that are just as effective. Most allow you to create a free account and host a certain number of participants. They include Zoom, Hangouts (Google), Jisti, Webex, etc...)
Skype is a comprehensive professional videoconferencing solution that lets you take advantage of certain services free of charge.
We are going to describe step by step how to use Skype alongside Beekast for optimal remote meetings.
First of all, go to the Skype page.
Skype can be used via a browser or on a Skype for Business application.
Click on Use Skype Online. The browser will then ask you if you agree to share the use of your microphone and camera with Skype, accept and both will be able to work properly in your meeting.
To launch a call, click on Conversation, the conversation will open and, in the top right-hand corner, click on Launch call.
Once you have launched the call, you will be asked which method you would like to use to share your meeting:
- Copy the link
- Contact via Skype
- Default email address
- Outlook email
- Gmail
- Facebook
Next, in order, you will find the following options for your meeting:
- Invite participants
- Record the meeting
- The list of participants
- Open a twin camera, or a second camera to host your meeting.
- The mute button
- Pause the camera
- Hang up the call
- Open the discussion area
- Raise your hand
- Share the screen
- and React
And thanks to the button with the three little "More" dots, you'll find :
- Change background
- And sound settings
For the Firefox version, screen sharing is not possible, unlike the version on Edge and Google Chrome.
Finally, by clicking on View in the top right-hand corner, you'll find other features that complement the use of Skype.
