Use Test Mode

How do you test an activity as a participant, without saving any answers?

Test Mode lets you experience an activity the way your participants will before you run it: you see the participant view, you can answer to try it out, and no answer is saved.

Turn on Test Mode

  1. In your session, select the slide of the activity you want to test.

  2. Click Edit (1) in the right-hand bar.

  3. At the top of the panel, click Test Mode (2).

Test the activity

The screen shows the participant view of the activity, under a Test Mode bar (1). The Nothing is saved message reminds you that your test answers are not kept; it also tells you where the activity stands.

Answer as a participant would, then click Close Testing Mode (2) to go back to your facilitator screen.

💡 Good to know

  • Your test answers never show up anywhere: not in the results, on the public screen, in the counters or in the exports.

  • However, if you start or finish the activity during the test, that change is real: the activity stays started or finished for your participants after you leave Test Mode.

  • If you reset the activity during the test, its real answers are erased.

When is Test Mode not available?

  • On a Whiteboard and on content slides (Text & Image, Video, Joining Options).

  • In a Self paced session.

  • When participants are connected to the session or the public screen is open: the Test Mode button is greyed out.

If a participant joins the session during the test, Test Mode closes automatically.
