The different ways to participate in a Beekast session

How do you choose a connection mode and secure access to your Beekast session?

You can choose a connection mode by:

  1. Going to Configure on the top left of the session

  2. Then, click on Connection and security

  3. You can set up the access method for your participants.

Available access/connection modes

1- Email

By selecting the Email identification mode, you make access to your session conditional on a required Beekast account. Upon connection, the users' profile name is automatically retrieved.

2- Avatar

With Avatar mode, you make your participation in the session anonymous. A Beekast account is optional, but all participants, with or without a Beekast account, are given an avatar.

3- Username

The Username mode lets each participant (with or without a Beekast account) choose a name to identify themselves on the session.

💡Good to know

  • The default connection mode on Beekast is Avatar on all Beekast sessions.

  • An avatar is automatically assigned to the owner and session moderator when they first connect to the session. This avatar cannot be changed.

Advanced security settings

Depending on the connection mode chosen, you can enable additional restrictions to strengthen the security of your session.

  • Restrict session access with a password: only participants who have entered the password can access the session. Available for all connection modes.

  • Restrict access to domain: only participants with an email address from an authorized domain name can access the session. Available only in Email identification mode.

  • Restrict access to email: only participants with an authorized email address can access the session. Available only in Email identification mode.
