To complete the activity, participants use a simple drag-and-drop function to move the items into the order they believe is correct.

Your Ranking activity can be used as a survey-type activity!

How to add a ranking activity

To create a Ranking activity, click on "Add a slide" on the top left of your session and then scroll down the menu until you see the Ranking activity and click on it.

When you choose the "Ranking" activity, the interface adapts instantly: a dedicated editing panel appears on the right of your screen, allowing you to customise your activity. At the same time, the system automatically saves your activity with the same name as the newly created activity (in this case, Ranking) and integrates it into your presentation, visible as a slide in the left-hand navigation bar.

Activity settings

1. Title and Instructions
- Customise your Ranking activity! The default title is the name of the activity. To change it, delete the automatic title and enter your question or a customised title.
- Add an instruction to give you more details about your activity. This option is optional.
2. Activity format
For the Ranking activity, you can choose between
- Evaluation, so that you can earn points by putting the answers in the right order
- Or the Survey to find out your participants' preferences on a given subject.

Enter your propositions in the text fields provided. The order you save is the order your participants must follow to get the right answer. You can change the order of the suggestions by clicking and holding the dotted line or the number of the item you want to move.
- Click + Add a proposition to add new suggestions to your ranking.
- Using the icons to the right of the suggestions, you can either attach an image or delete the suggestion.
- You can make your participants' answers to the survey anonymous.

It's also possible to display a countdown at the start of the activity.

3. Presentation settings and Résults
From this area, you can :
- Activate the option to display the number of live participations
- Select the display mode, after each answer or at the end of the activity.
- Add an explanation to your questions

Notes
It is possible to add launch settings to your activity. Consult our dedicated article about Time management settings.

Start activity

In the facilitator control mode, you will have a button to "Start" the activity in the top right corner of the slide, which allows your participants to participate in it.
The organizer and moderators can also take part in the activity if they want. They just need to click on the Take part tab.

To make your activity unavailable for your participants, you must click on “Stop” o the top right of the slide.

The activity's options

You can at any moment by clicking on the 3 small dots on the right of your activity:
1. Reset
2. Edit
3. Duplicate
4. Delete

In evaluation activities, participants cannot change their answers once they have submitted them.

Survey

In the survey format, the suggestions will be awarded a number of points according to the order in which they are ranked.

Example: You have suggestions A, B and C in the ranking activity.
      - A participant will rank the suggestions in the following order: A-C-B
Proposal A will get 3 points, proposal C will get 2 points and proposal B will get 1 point
      - Another participant will rank the suggestions in the following order: B-A-C
Proposal B will get 3 points, proposal A will get 2 points and proposal C will get 1 point.

Depending on the order that your participants give to the suggestions, the suggestions will obtain a certain number of points, and it is the suggestion that obtains the most points that will come at the top of the ranking. It may happen that in certain cases several suggestions have the same number of points, in which case they will be equal in the results of the activity and these suggestions will have the same place in the ranking.

Scores

The Ranking activity is an evaluation activity that allows your participants to score points based on the selected answers. The participant will earn points for each correct answer and will not earn any points if they give a wrong answer. Points can be displayed by presenters and participants using the My Score button, found at the top of the screen next to the Results button. A small window will provide information about the points earned and on which activities.

General podium

Whether you have created teams or not in your session, the points won by teams or individually during the activity will also be visible on the activity podium. To view the podium, click on the cup on the right-hand side of your screen to see the rankings for the different teams.
