Project Your Session

How do you display your slides on a second screen or a video projector during your session?

You can project your slides onto a second screen or a video projector. The public screen lets you display the active slide on a larger screen, without the navigation tabs or the slideshow present on your session interface.

Turning on the Public Screen

To project your session:

  • Click the Open public screen button, at the top right of your session.

  • This immediately opens a second window called Public screen, which you can maximize and project for your participants, or share in Meet, Teams or Zoom.

📝 The Open public screen button is greyed out as long as your session has no slides. Add a slide first, then open the public screen.

Customizing the Public Screen Display

You can set up your public screen by displaying different elements:

  • A pointer during your presentation: move your cursor to the top right of your screen and click the Enable pointer icon on the banner at the top of the screen.

  • Show controls: this option lets you move between slides, launch your activities, and moderate participants' answers directly from the public screen. To turn it on, click the Settings icon at the top right of your screen, then click Show controls.

  • Tools: click the Settings icon at the top right of your screen, then click Display tools. The panel appears on the right of the screen, with the Messages and Actions tabs; you and your participants can see and send messages.

  • Show slideshow: lets you see which slide you're on and choose directly which slide to jump to, without scrolling through the whole presentation. Click the Settings icon at the top right of your screen, then click Show slideshow. An indicator with the slide number appears at the top left, letting you change the active slide easily.

  • Zoom level setting: click the Settings icon, then adjust the zoom level as you like.

  • Display the session's QR code: click Settings at the top right of the screen, then click Project QR Code. Your session's QR code appears on the public screen.

  • Full screen: click the Settings icon at the top right of your screen, then click Open full screen.

Displaying Your Session's Global Ranking

The global ranking compiles all the points accumulated by your participants and teams on evaluation activities. Project it to challenge your participants — ideal for boosting competition.

  • To display it, click the trophy icon at the top right of your screen.

  • Two ranking modes are available: individual leaderboard and team leaderboard.

  • Individual leaderboard mode compiles all the points accumulated by each participant during evaluation activities (Quiz, Quick check, Correct order, Matching, and Find on image).

  • Team leaderboard mode compiles the number of points accumulated by each team during evaluation activities.

💡 Good to know

  • The individual and team leaderboards only take into account points earned during evaluation activities.

  • Participation leaderboard mode displays a participant's participation rate via "Bees": the more a participant interacts and takes part in the session, the more Bees they earn.

  • The participation leaderboard only takes into account participation in activities and messages sent in the discussion — not evaluation points.

Displaying the Journey View

On your public screen, you can display a journey view, which lets the facilitator see participants' progress in the session.

  • Then click the Beekast journey button at the top right of your screen.

  • Each slide (activity or presentation) is represented by a honeycomb.

  • Participants are represented by their Beekast profile photo or their avatar. To see a participant's name, hover your cursor over their avatar.

💡 Good to know

  • The journey view is only available in participant control mode.

  • It only accounts for your participants' progress, not their rate of correct answers.
