FAQ Beekast & Video Conferencing

How do you use Beekast with a video conferencing tool?

FAQ for using Beekast with a video conferencing tool.

Is there a video conferencing system integrated into Beekast?

No, there is no video conferencing system integrated into Beekast. Beekast offers a workaround: a feature to directly associate your session with video conferencing applications. Thanks to the Connected applications tab, accessible in the settings of your sessions, Beekast makes it easy to create and access your video conferencing tool, Zoom or Jitsi.

What if my preferred video conferencing tool is not among your connected applications?

Even if Beekast is not directly linked to your favorite application, it is not very complicated to open both at the same time. Consult our Beekast & Cie category.

Is there a trick to having Beekast and my video conferencing tool on the same interface?

Yes: Beekast is integrated into Microsoft Teams. If you integrate Beekast into MS Teams, you can launch your Beekast session from your Microsoft Teams interface, alongside the video conferencing built into MS Teams. Read more here.

I want to share my Beekast screen through the video conferencing tool; what should I know?

It can sometimes be useful to share your Beekast screen with your team: for example, to remotely show the Podium, or to follow along live with the correction of a session that was in "By the participant" mode. Keep in mind that a screen share is not an interactive screen: your participants will not be able to interact with your screen. We also recommend not sharing your admin page, but only the projection mode of your Beekast session, by clicking the Open public screen button at the top right of your admin page. Read more here.

How do I enable or disable my microphone and camera from my browser?

You can use your camera and microphone for websites in Chrome, Firefox, etc. Consult the guides for the browser you use: Chrome, Firefox, Safari.
