Create a session
Once connected to your Beekast account, you will land on the page “My sessions”. This is where you will find all the sessions you have created and participated in.
To create a new session, click on the button on your right, “organise a session”. Choose then the slides scrolling mode that you desire, then click on create.
There are two modes for the scrolling of your slides on Beekast:
- Scrolling mode by the facilitator: participants won’t have control on the scrolling of the slides. When the facilitator changes of slide, this will also change for the participants.
- The scrolling mode by the participant: each participant has control and is autonomous on the scrolling of the slides. They are independent and they go at their own pace.
Add content
Once on the interface of the created session, click on the button on your left to add a slide to your presentation. A panel will open with many options.
Add an activity
To add an activity, scroll through the menu until you find the activity that pleases you, then click on it.
A window will open on the right of your screen with the settings to fix your activity. Once completed, click on “save”.
On the scrolling mode by the facilitator, the activities are controlled over a button on the right of the slide to open/ close the activity. On the scrolling mode by the participant, the activities are always available from the moment the participant is connected to the session.
Add a template of activity
Beekast proposes different templates of activities that you can import directly to your session. For this, click on “Templates”, then select the desired template. You can filter the results based on your goals, or click on “view details” to access the
Beekast inspiration site by hovering over an activity card.
Add a document
It is possible to import your presentations, from a PDF, PPT, Keynote, or Google Slide format. For this, click on “Presentation” then select the document you want to import (either from your device or from your Google Drive if you’re logged in). Once your presentation is imported, it will be broken down into independent slides on your session.
Once imported, it is not possible anymore to edit a PPT, Keynote or Googles Slide presentation from Beekast.
Invite your participants
You have multiple alternatives to invite your participants to join your session:
- Copy and send the public link of your session
To see your public link, click on the lock icon on the top left of your session.
- Communicate the session code
To see the session code, made of 6 numbers, click on the lock icon on the top left of your session. The session code, it’s automatically and randomly generated. It is possible to generate a new one by clicking on the spinning arrow right next to the session code.
With this session code, your participants will then need to go to the page beekast.live, then fill in the code to have access to your session.
- Display the QR code of your session
For this, add an “Instruction” slide to your presentation. By leaving the default text and enabling the view of the QR code, a slide with QR code will be added to your presentation. We advise the placing of this slide on the top of your slideshow.
