Welcome page
When logging into Beekast for the first time, new users are taken to the home page, where they can start their first session with a single click by selecting the activity of their choice.

Choose the activity
In the home page, you can:
1. Create a session directly by clicking on one of the three activities on offer (Word cloud, Board and Quiz).
2. Or by selecting another activity from the Beekast activity library.

Welcome to your first Beekast session !
Once the activity has been chosen, the session is created and automatically saved with certain default settings that can be modified, such as the navigation mode or the identification mode

My next Beekast sessions

Your session will be added to your "My sessions" workspace, where you can create your next Beekast session.

Create a session
From the home page, you can:
1. Click on the Create a session button.
2. Or choose one of the suggested activities to create your next session.

After creating a session, the default scrolling mode is already configured. There are two slide scrolling modes on Beekast:
- Scrolling by the facilitator: This is the Synchronous scrolling mode. In this mode, the presenter controls the transition from one slide to the next. Participants have no control: when you change slides, their screens automatically update to display the same slide as yours.
- Participant scrolling: This mode is called Asynchronous scrolling. Unlike synchronous mode, it allows each participant to navigate through the slides at their own pace. They are completely independent and are not forced to follow the presenter's scrolling.

Info
It is now possible to change the slide scrolling mode (from "Synchronous" control to "Asynchronous" control, or vice versa) after a session has been created. For more information on how to do the change, please consult our related article HERE.

The session adopts a generic name “New session + date of creation”. This can be modified by clicking on the pencil on the right of the title.

Alert
Creating new sessions is not available on mobile. To create a new session, please use the web version of Beekast on a computer.

Add an activity
To continue adding activities/slides, click on the button on the left to Add a slide to your presentation. A panel will open with several options.

Scroll through the menu until you find the activity you are interested in, then click on it. A second panel will open on the right side of the screen with the settings to be defined for the activity. Slides are saved automatically once selected.

Info
On the scrolling mode by the facilitator, the activities are controlled over a button on the right of the slide to Start/Stop the activity. On the scrolling mode by the participant, the activities are always available from the moment the participant is connected to the session.

Add a template activity
Beekast proposes different templates of activities that you can import directly to your session. For this, click on “Templates”, then select the desired template. You can filter the results based on your goals, or click on “view details” to access the Beekast inspiration site by hovering over an activity card.

Add a document
It is possible to import your presentations, from a PDF, PPT, Keynote, or Google Slide format. For this, click on “Presentation” then select the document you want to import (either from your device or from your Google Drive if you’re logged in). Once your presentation is imported, it will be broken down into independent slides on your session.

Alert
Once imported, it is not possible anymore to edit a PPT, Keynote or Googles Slide presentation from Beekast.
